Proposition 65 requires businesses to notify Californians about significant amounts of chemicals in the products they purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment.
In order to keep our clients compliant, we have released an update that allows you to place this Prop 65 warning on your products.
You can add this warning through two places on your admin panel.
Set Prop 65 Warning Globally
Setting the Prop 65 warning globally will place the warning on every product in your catalog.
Navigate to SYSTEM > CONFIGURATION, and scroll to the Sitebiz section in the left-hand navigational column.
Select California Prop 65, here you will see the option to set Enable California Prop 65 Warning to Yes.
Set Prop 65 by Categories
If you would rather have the prop 65 warning only on the products necessary, you also have the option to set the prop 65 warning per category.
Navigate to CATALOG > MANAGE CATEGORIES. Select the category you wish to add the prop 65 warning to and select the Gunimport tab of that category.
Here you will have to option to set the California Prop 65 Warning to Yes, and this will place the warning only on the products associated with that category.
Now you will need to flush cache and reindex.
SYSTEM > CACHE MANAGEMENT. Select Flush Cache Storage at the top right of the page.
SYSTEM > INDEX MANAGEMENT. Select All, Submit next to Reindex Data at the top right of the page.
Once you have placed the warning, this is how it will display on your products:
Your website will now be Prop 65 compliant!
