Google analytics is a service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. This is a great way to see how many customers are visiting your website, and where on your website they're visiting. You can use this information to build marketing techniques or to create advertisements that target a specific crowd.
You will first need to create a Google Merchant account and then verify and claim your website, if you have not done so already.
When the account is created, a report should appear that shows your new Google Analytics account number in the following format: UA-XXXXXXX-1. Write this number down or document it somewhere you can easily access, this information is required to complete the configuration for your store.
Using Google Analytics
Sign into your Google Analytics account, and select Admin from the main menu.
In the View column, select View Settings.
In the panel on the left, select Ecommerce Settings, then do the following:
- Click the Status switch to enable E-commerce Tracking. Then select Next.
- Click Submit to save the setting.
When the Success message appears at the top of the page, you are done.
