You can create a popup that will appear the first time a customer accesses your site, which can later be used with on Abandoned Cart mailing.
This feature is located under MailChimp when navigating System > Configuration.
To get started, you will have to turn 'Catch Email on Popup' from No to Yes.
Now create the heading and body of the popup. You can make this a Welcome message for first-time viewers or generate your own message to catch customers' attention and encourage them to sign up for your newsletter.
The next two fields are requesting the customer's name on the popup. You can set to ask for first and last name, either first or last name only and even no-name at all.
However, if you allow guests to subscribe to your newsletter or use the abandoned cart feature, asking for the full name of customers could be useful when tracking store activity.
Next, enter the dimensions of the Popup window you're creating. The dimensions go by percentage of window height/width, so keep this in mind when entering digits.
When the email is confirmed from the popup, you can configure this setting to subscribe the guest customer to your newsletter.
The next few settings are simple to configure-
Can the customer close out of the popup without entering any information?
- Yes- Customer can close out popup
- No- Customer must enter email and any other information requested on the popup before closing.
When closed without email entered by the customer, how long until the popup is shown again?
- This field is in days. When a number is entered in this field, the popup will not reappear to that customer again until that number of days has passed.
Limit of times popup will get shown-
- If a customer doesn't confirm the popup, this is the number of times it will show up each time the customer reloads the page.
