As a store administrator, you can view every guest or customer registered to receive your newsletter. You can also offer people viewing or shopping on your site multiple ways to subscribe to your newsletter.
Navigate to Newsletter > Newsletter Subscribers
Here you can see all the information of customers who've signed up to receive your newsletter. You can see their email, names, whether they are a customer or a guest, and if they are still subscribed or have unsubscribed.
Ways for Customers to Subscribe
You have several options for offering customers a way to subscribe.
A common method used it a Newsletter Popup. This is a prompt that pops up when customers enter your website. It might offer a percentage discount for their first purchase if they sign up, or offer to post special deals.

Generically, there is also a subscription link in the footer of your site. Since your footer is on every page of your website, it creates a constant option for customers to register.
You can also give customers a last-minute registry option by offering a checkbox to sign up for the newsletter as customers are checking out.
Navigate System > Configuration
Then under the Sales category in the left-hand navigation column, select Checkout.
Once you've clicked Checkout, expand the Exclude/ Include Field tab. Here you will see two options:
- Show newsletter checkbox
- Newsletter checked by default
Select "Yes" in the Show Newsletter Checkbox field if you would like to provide your customers the opportunity to subscribe to your newsletter at checkout by checking a box.
Selecting "Yes" in the "-checked by default" field will require customers to un-check the newsletter box if they do not wish to receive your newsletter. (**NOTE: Selecting "Yes" in this field will sign up any customer or guest that checks out on your site, even if they are not interested, which could result in unnecessarily spamming customers.)
Selecting "No" in this field will require customers to check the box, which will sign them up for your newsletter.
After you've made your changes, Save Config.
Now you'll want to flush cache and reindex if necessary:
SYSTEM > CACHE MANAGEMENT. Select Flush Cache Storage at the top right of the page.
SYSTEM > INDEX MANAGEMENT. Select All, Submit next to Reindex Data at the top right of the page.
