How your products are sorted and designated to be used in the front-end of your website depends on the configuration of your catalog and what priority is assigned to distributor products.
1. The first step will be to navigate to:
SYSTEM > CONFIGURATION
In the left-hand column, scroll until you see the section labeled "Catalog" and click the Catalog tab. In the center of the screen find and expand the tab labeled Catalog Search.
The two fields that need focused on are:
- Remove Duplicate UPC from Search Results
- Prefer Own Products When Removing Duplicate UPC
Remove Duplicate UPC from search results
Change drop-down to YES if you'd like your product catalog to only list one UPC, should there be the same UPC coming from multiple distributor sources.
Prefer own products when removing duplicate UPC
Change drop-down to YES if you added products to your site manually (instore inventory) that needs to be preferred over the products in your catalog coming from distributor sources.
In the upper-right hand corner click, Save Config.
2. The second step will be to prioritize the distributor feeds.
While still under the SYSTEM > CONFIGURATION section of your admin, scroll until you see the "Gunimport" section on the left. Click to open your #1 preferred distributor.
For this example, we will use RSR.
Under the General tab you will see a field labeled, "Priority for Products" -- enter the number 1. Click Save Config.
Repeat this step for all distributors you have imported into your site.
**Please note: Once you are done updating all priorities, you will need to reindex your site.
