Price Multipliers offer merchants a simple way to mark up the price of their products.
There are several ways you can do this- By category, subcategory, per product and for the entirety of the store.
There is also a special price multiplier specifically for firearms.
Gun Price Multiplier
This multiplier is just for markups on firearms. You will find this setting when navigating to System > Configuration.
In the left-hand navigational column, scroll down to Gunimport, select Gunimport Settings and expand the Gunimport Settings tab.
You will see margin for Gun Price Multiplier, here you can enter a markup for all of the firearms on your site.
- Example: If you wanted a 20% markup, you would enter 1.2 in this field. For 30%, 1.3. And so forth.
After the changes have been made, Save Config.
Global Price Multiplier
This multiplier is your merchant markup for the entirety of your website, excluding guns (since they're managed separately).
This setting is in the same location as the Gun Price Multiplier. You can see the Price Multiplier field directly above the Gun Price Multiplier margin.
Same rules apply- Enter the markup percentage and Save Config.
Product Price Multiplier
Navigate to Catalog > Manage Products.
Select the product you wish to have a direct price multiplier.
On the left-hand side, you will see a column with specific product information.
From that column, select Gunimport.
Within this tab, you will see the field for Price Multiplier.
After you enter the desired markup, Save.
Category Price Multiplier
Navigate to Catalog > Manage Categories.
On the left, you see a category tree consisting of all the categories and subcategories that your products fall under.
Click to expand the category you wish to apply a price multiplier to, this should open the information page for that category.
Select the Gunimport tab along the top of the information page, you will see a field for Price Multiplier.
Enter the markup amount, and Save. This will add a markup to all products in this category.
How do I determine which multiplier will be used when there is more than one price multiplier active?
Whichever Price Multiplier is "closer" any given product is the price multiplier that will be used.
Essentially your Global Price Multiplier will be the multiplier "farthest away" from any product.
Category Price Multiplier is closer to any given product, but the Product Price Multiplier is as close to the product as you can get, considering that it is directly implemented on the product.
What happens when distributors or manufacturers edit prices, do my Price Multipliers adjust?
Yes. When distributors or manufacturers update their pricing, the updates will come through their FTP and update on your website. When those prices update, your price multipliers (no matter where they are configured) will account for the new price and keep the same markup percentage. There is no need to constantly update your multipliers when the price of a product changes.
