MAP Settings

There are several MAP(Minimum Advertised Price) settings available for use in the GS Ecommerce Admin.

The most commonly used MAP feature is Use MAP Price if Multiplier Price is Lower.

This feature will force MAP pricing to show as the sale price if your dealer cost + markup settings are calculated at a lower list price than MAP.

To enable this setting:

Navigate to System > Configuration > Gunimport > Gunimport Settings.

  • Expand Gunimport Settings tab if not already done.
  • Change "Use MAP price if multiplier price is lower" field to Yes.
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click Save Config button.

**Please note: Price changes are not immediately reflected on the website. You will need to allow the site time to index all the product and update prices accordingly. The timeframe will differ based on the number of products you have listed in your product catalog.

Another frequently used MAP feature is, Force MAP if available.

If enabled, this feature will list a products MAP price as the sale price by default.

If the MAP price field is empty, due to no MAP available from the manufacturer or the data was not provided by the distributors then the sale price will default to the dealer's cost + markup.

To enable this setting:

Navigate to System > Configuration > Gunimport > Gunimport Settings

  • Expand Gunimport Settings tab if not already done.
  • Change "Force Map if available" field to Yes.
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click Save Config button.

MAP Holiday is the newest MAP feature.

When manufacturers graciously offer MAP Holidays, you are able to list the manufacturer's names in the MAP Holiday field.

To utilize this setting:

Navigate to System > Configuration > Gunimport > Gunimport Settings

  • Expand Gunimport Settings tab if not already done.
  • Place your cursor in the MAP Holiday Text Box
  • List Manufacturers in box -- Be Sure to hit enter after each name so that only one manufacturer is listed per line.
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click Save Config button.
